Virat Kohli rockets to second position in Test rankings

It would be a great moment when the Indian skipper Virat Kohli reaches at no.1 position in all the formats of the game. That record will stay for long time as there is no player like king Kohli to play consistently in every format. Virat Kohli has moved up three places to grab second position among batsmen in the ICC Test Player Rankings. He started the Sri Lankan series with a duck and ended it with 2 double hundred, one hundred and one fifty.

Kohli scored 610 runs in the last series against Sri Lanka and the incredible performance has helped him to move his position from 5th to 2nd in the latest ICC test player rankings. He scored back-to-back double-centuries and recorded three-figure scores in three consecutive matches. The Indian maestro is currently world no.1 in both ODI and T20I rankings and if Australian skipper Steve Smith fails to perform well, Virat Kohli will taste the great moment by becoming no.1 batsman in all the three formats of the game. But Smith is far away from the no.2 batsman, Smith is now on 938 points while Kohli is on 893 points.

Before the start of Sri Lankan series, Indian new wall Cheteshwar Pujara was at 2nd position in the list but now he is at 4th position with 873 points. England captain Joe Root is just behind the Indian skipper with 879 points.
