The 3rd and final match of the ongoing test series between India and Sri Lanka is going to end in a draw as the visitors batted brilliantly to avoid another loss in the series. Virat Kohli and co smelled the taste of another test win at the end of 4th day but on day 5, the things gone totally opposite to India’s expectations.
On day 4, Mohammed Shami bowled two consecutive bouncer to Sri Lankan batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama and he struggled to face those furious bouncers. He completely avoids the first bouncer as it was very dangerous from Shami and he fell down by losing his control as there was no enough time to leave it.
But then on the next delivery, he tried to play it and the ball nicked on his gloves before hitting his shoulder. Ajinkya Rahane took the catch at slip and started celebrating. Mohammed Shami appealed and umpire rises his finger but the batsman decided to review it. In reply, it shows there was a nick on his gloves before hitting the shoulder and the umpire’s decision remained same. After that, Virat Kohli was seen laughing with the Umpire may be because of that DRS decision of Sri Lankan batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama.
Day 5 summary
Sri Lanka dominated the final day of the final test match of the series. Sri Lankan batsman Dhananjaya De Silva scored a brilliant century but he retired hurt due to some reasons. He scored 119 runs from 219 balls including 15 fours and one six. Then the debutant batsman Roshen Silva scored a superb fifty when his team needed it the most.
