India’s Tour Of South Africa 2018: India’s Predicted Squad For Test Series


After the great and incredible performance at home, team India will fly to South Africa to play 3 test matches and 3 ODI matches. The World number Test team will have to prove their ability in overseas condition and also against a tough opponent like South Africa. India’s first test against South Africa is scheduled to start from January 5th and the more amazing thing about this tour is that India didn’t win a single test series in South Africa yet.

However, expectations are high from Virat Kohli & Co. who have won eight Test series in a row and are looking primed to win the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. It would be a challenge for Virat Kohli as a captain and if he could win the series, it would be one of the best achievement of his life. We hope the World’s strong test team can beat one of the strongest team like South Africa in their own Soil.

Meanwhile, the squad for the Test series, starting January 5, will be announced after the upcoming third Test against Sri Lanka. For each and every player, it will be a dream to be in the team and also to perform their level best in a most awaiting series.

1. KL Rahul

He scored 8 consecutive half centuries this year but unfortunately he failed to convert those fifties into big hundreds.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

Another fine test opener of Indian cricket team at the moment. KL Rahul, Murali Vijay and Dhawan are very consistent in test cricket so that it’s a big headache for the selectors as it’s very tough to pick two of them into the playing eleven. After being Dropped from the team, he made a comeback to Indian test team against Sri Lanka and scored 94 runs in the first test but later, he left the team for personal reasons.

3. Murali Vijay

This guy is the best opening batsman in test cricket at the moment. He played one of the best comeback knock in the second test against Sri Lanka as scored his 10th test hundred(128 runs). One of the moist valuable player of Indian team have already cemented his place for the overseas tour.

4. Cheteshwar Pujara

India might have missed Rahul Dravid in test cricket after his retirement, but this man is the new wall of India team who has the capability to bat for the whole 5 days of test cricket. He was India’s highest run-scorer in the previous home season and has started the ongoing season in the same fashion, scoring a fifty and a hundred in the first two games. He once again moved to Second position in test batting rankings and he is all set to continue his for in overseas conditions too.

5. Virat Kohli

The man who is all set to create history by winning a series against South Africa in their soil. The world’s best batsman at the moment has already scored two centuries against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series. He has rested for the ODI series against Sri Lanka to prepare well for the most awaiting and tough South African tour.

6. Ajinkya Rahane

One of the finest batsman and trustful batsman in overseas conditions. He is currently not in the best form of his life but still the selectors and the team management will have a great faith on this talented batsman. He has good records in overseas conditions and we hope he will continue that against South Africa.

7. Rohit Sharma

While his haters are busy in saying that he is not suitable for Test Cricket, he continued replying them with his performance. The selectors ignored one of the best batsman in the world at the moment in few test matches but they gave him a chance in the second test against Sri Lanka and he made a comeback with a superb century. With form on his side, he too is looking set to make it to the squad.

8. Wriddhiman Saha (wk)

Having done extremely well since replacing MS Dhoni behind the stumps. He may not be the best as much as Dhoni but still he is doing wonders behind the wicket. He is also one of the best batman in the longest format of the game.He will be eyeing a strong series on the tough tour of South Africa.

9. Hardik Pandya

The most merging Cricketer of Indian Cricket team. Not just as a batsman, he impresses everyone with his medium pace deliveries. Currently, he is out of the Indian test team as he himself rested to prepare well for the tough series and also the important series of his career.

10. Ravichandran Ashwin

The world’s best spinner creates history during the second test against Sri Lanka. He became the fastest to take 300 wickets in test Cricket history as he surpassed Legendary Dennis Lillee. After Virat KOhli, he will be the most valuable test player of Indian team but he has to prove himself in the overseas conditions.

16. Jasprit Bumrah
