We all started hearing the Word Yo-Yo test since the failures of Indian all rounders Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. Yo-Yo test is the biggest headache for the current cricketer as in the past there was no such tests to get selected in the national team. Recently, the comeback of Dinesh Karthik will tell you it’s not that much tough to clear the Yo-Yo test.
Even if you are extra talented cricketer, then also you must have to clear this test and now the Indian young Star Washington Sundar finally passed out the Yo-Yo test after some failures. He became a popular bowler during the Indian Premier League 2017 but the Yo-Yo test was the villain between him and the Indian team call up.
“Having failed to get through last time, there was a lot of pressure on me on this occasion, even more than in a key game. This Yo-Yo test was big for me but once it started all the pressure disappeared. I thought I paced myself well.” Sundar told Sportstar.
What was the reason behind last time failure ?
“The last call for Yo-Yo came very soon after the Duleep Trophy final in which I batted and bowled in both the innings. I had to rush to the NCA. Perhaps I didn’t have enough time to recover for a physical test of this nature. This time I got more time after the Ranji game against Baroda. I was better prepared physically and mentally,” Washington Sundar quoted.
“I learnt a lot during the Ranji season. I want to thank coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and strength and conditioning coach Ramji Srinivasan for their belief in me and their inputs,” he concluded after showing his thankfulness to his coach. We hope he will get a chance in Indian team for the T20I series against Sri Lanka.
