Abraham Benjamin de Villiers, the name is enough. Many Cricket fans were saying that his times are gone and he can’t be like the old de villiers anymore, but he replied everyone with his bat today as he scored another blistering century against Bangladesh. He completed his 25th ODI and that came from just 68 balls.
The saddest part of his innings was that he has all the chance to score his first ever Double Century in one day internationals but he missed that by just 24 runs. The spectators witnessed one of the best innings as he just blazed every bowler to every corner of the ground. He scored 176 runs from 104 balls including 15 fours and 7 sixes.
De Villiers didn’t get the opportunity in first ODI to show his arrival with the bat after suffering from injuries. Hashim Amla and Quinton De Kock created a record breaking opening partnership to win that match by 10 wickets. Both the openers scored hundreds in the first ODI of the series and it was Hashim Amla’s 26th ODI century. Today, Amla missed his second hundred of the series by just 15 runs. He scored 85 runs from 92 balls.
South Africa posts a massive total with the help of Hashim Amla and AB de villiers. The most experienced bowler of Banlgladesh, Shakib Al Hasan came to fore and scalped Quinton De kock and Faf Du Plessis in the same over. But the great man AB De Villiers batted without any pressure and scored one of the best centuries of his career.
Former Cricketers and Fans were amazed after watching the classy batting of the legend and they couldn’t stop themselves from showering praises on him. From Sehwag to Vaughan, many legends reacted on Twitter after witnessing one of the best ODI innings.
